An experienced career strategist and workshop presenter, John's background also includes two decades as a production manager, first in the lumber industry of the Pacific Northwest, then in printing and binding facilities in the Twin Cities. During his years in management, John recognized that what he enjoyed most were the opportunities to coach and mentor his employees to achieve success. With this in mind, he made the formal transition to career coaching when his division was cut in a round of corporate layoffs.
Before joining Prototype Career Service, John worked for a nonprofit organization helping people achieve their career goals, and then as an employment counselor for the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development. His most recent certifications include Job and Career Coach Certification, and Global Career Development Facilitator Certification. At Prototype, John counsels clients on job search and career strategies, conducts taped interview practices, and leads networking sessions and group presentations. A skilled presenter, counselor and strategist, John is energized by learning and has an exceptional passion for career development.
